This blog started in Uruguay where I found over 700 letters dealing with the whereabouts of my grandmother, who fled to Uruguay from Berlin due to the Nazis. The blog continued in NYC, where I spent an unforgettable summer interning and enjoying the city and its theaters. Now, it continues in Berlin, as I work to unearth more of my grandmother's history and study a bit too! This is for my mom and those around the globe sweet enough to follow!

Nerves...
Tomorrow is the big day!!!! It is now 1:08 in the morning and I'm laying on my bed for the last time before I start these 3 months, and all I'm feeling is nerves. Maybe it's because tomorrow morning I will be in charge of making sure that all of our 4 bags and 4 carry on items make it to the airport. That we get there in time, park the car, have passports, e-tickets, etc. Maybe its because I'm scared I'll forget to leave everything locked here, or that I forgot to do something crucial before I leave for 3 MONTHS!!!! Maybe it's because it will be the first time in 11 years that I spend more than 10 days in Uruguay. Maybe it's because I truly have no idea what I'm about to find with my project. Maybe it's because I truly have no idea how I'm gonna do my project... Or maybe its because I'M LEAVING FOR 3 WHOLE MONTHS. (ok maybe 2 months and 20 days, but its close enough.) No matter what the reason is, I better get over it quickly because I have 7 hours to sleep before we start checking off things on the checklist and head to Memphis!!! AAAAHHHH scary thought! On the other hand, Montevideo awaits us with open arms and i CANNOT wait to see my family. That's the best part of this trip, oh yeah.. and getting to share it with friends isn't so bad... Well I'm off for now. I'm gonna go attempt to sleep (A.K.A. roll over and keep adding to tomorrow's checklist) I'm sure I'll post something during our 6 hour wait in the airport tomorrow (unless I really do decide to read the 4 books I packed!) Till then, wish us luck on!
